Samshin

삼신
Sam·shin /ˈsam ʃɪn / noun

[Korean: sam (three) + shin (spirit)]

My acupuncture practice is named after the Samshin, the three protective grandmother spirits from Korean shamanism who serve as guardians of birth, children, life, and life transitions. Traditionally, Korean families honour the Samshin by placing their altar in the warmest part of the home.

Samshin lies at the heart of my practice philosophy. During my childhood in Korea, I was surrounded by my grandmother and her circle of grandmother friends. Their humorous and community-centered approach to care shaped my understanding that healing happens through connection and ongoing support.
